First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Blu Homes.
Designer
The interview process took a few weeks. I talked with multiple people to build confidence. The job description was not fixed, which was good because I was expected to help define the role.
- Would you be willing to relocate for the position?
Project Coordinator
It was pretty disorganized. I spoke with 4 different people, none of whom seemed prepared. I got the impression the company wasn't sure what they were actually looking for when hiring for this role. I wouldn't suggest this company to anyone I know looking for a job.
- What makes you want to join this company?
Project Lead Designer
I interviewed with two people at Blu Homes in a factory meeting room. They were nice and we had a good conversation, but they seemed unprepared for an interview. It felt more like a casual chat where I asked most of the questions. A few days later, I got the job offer and gave my old employer three weeks' notice. They said they wanted someone long-term. But, less than a week before I was supposed to start, they rescinded the offer because of losing big projects. I ended up quitting my job and Blu didn't even apologize for leaving me unemployed. They seemed unprepared and unorganized, not a company I'd want to work for.
- Tell me about your background and experience.
Project Manager
First, there was a phone call to check availability for an interview and discuss my start date and current situation. Then, I had a one-on-one meeting with the assistant director, followed by a brief meeting with the director of the group. An offer was extended by phone, and we had several negotiations over the phone. All interviews involved good questions, a simple meeting, and felt casual. It seemed like a good company to work for, but it wasn't truly representative of the actual culture.
- What is your motivation?
