It started with HR, then a marketing challenge done offline. After that, a manager meeting to go over the challenge. Finally, a team meeting to get to know everyone, which was online since it's a remote job and conducted in English. Then an offer if everything went well.

The interview was casual, meeting the owner and the team I'd be working with. We looked at my portfolio and discussed company culture and expectations. They initially listed the role as 'illustrator' but it's actually for Art Director, seeking someone with an illustration background. Then, I toured the 8th floor with HR and we talked about compensation and the hiring process. The company hires temps for 90 days before making a full-time offer.

The interview process was really great, I enjoyed the conversations. They were good at asking questions that helped me understand if I was a fit for them and the company culture. I first spoke with HR and the person I would report to. After passing that, I had a final interview with the VP and Director of the department. Unfortunately, I did not get the job, but the communication was very professional and I felt respected.
