Campaign Manager
First I had a phone interview with the hiring manager, which was pretty straight forward about past experience etc. The next stage was an in person interview with a panel of three managers. All were very nice and the questions were about past experience, my experience as a manager overseeing direct employees, and a couple of behavioral questions. About a week later I was asked back to do a half hour presentation to display public speaking skills. They provided me with materials and I had 30 minutes to prepare a presentation which was given to the same three managers. The overall process was really enjoyable, the interviewers were straight forward and very nice. I ended up rejecting the offer simply because I had received other offers that were better compensated, but it seems this place has a great company culture and of course a great cause.
- Can you discuss the rewards and difficulties of being a direct manager?
- Describe a situation where you worked with high-ranking executives to involve them in fundraising.
- What is your background in fundraising?
Campaign Manager
About 1-2 weeks after I applied online, I got an email asking if I was still interested and if I wanted to move on to the next step, a phone interview. We scheduled it for about three weeks after I initially applied. It lasted around 30 minutes and was with someone from HR. Then I got another email asking again if I was still interested and if I could come in for a one-on-one interview at their local office. This interview was at their office with the development team person who would be my direct supervisor. They told me the next step would be to interview with the chapter director. The whole thing wrapped up about six weeks after I first applied when I got a nice thank you email saying the position had been filled.
- Tell me about your fundraising campaign experience that didn't involve events.
- What fundraising accomplishment are you most proud of, what did it entail, and when did it happen?
- How did you find out about this job opportunity?
Campaign Manager
I had a phone interview to kick things off. After that, I was invited for an in-person interview that felt pretty unstructured. They brought up part-time positions, even though I had only applied for full-time roles and had clarified this during the initial phone screening. I was initially told I'd hear back within 7-10 days, but after two weeks of silence, they reached out to see if I was still interested. I confirmed my interest and provided my availability for a discussion. Despite this, I was never emailed or called back, which felt like I was completely disregarded. It was quite unprofessional on their end; a simple response to my email would have been courteous.
- In what ways do your skills align with the requirements of this position?
