Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Blood Cancer United.
Development Manager
It was a really straightforward process with great communication. The hiring manager and HR were easy to work with and very personable. It started with a phone screen, then an interview with the hiring manager, followed by an interview with the executive director, and then I heard back about their decision. There were no games and no long waits to hear back.
- Can you discuss your experience with fundraising and a situation where you had to think quickly?
- Tell me about a time you had to improvise.
Development Manager
After a quick call with the recruiter, I had two more interviews via Zoom. The first was with the Campaign Director, and the second, final interview was with her and the Executive Director. They were really friendly and chill. They seemed genuine and wanted to understand my motivation for joining their organization and my thoughts on their mission.
- Could you explain your interest in LLS?
- What is your interpretation of our mission?
- Can you share detailed accounts of your previous experiences?
Manager
I applied online and got a phone interview first, then an in-person interview. No HR was involved, and both interviews were with the Hiring Team. They had multiple positions open and were checking my fit for all of them, which was a bit confusing. The in-person interview focused on fundraising. They were good about updates early on, but then they ghosted me, and I had to chase them for an update. It wasn't very professional.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- Why are you interested in LLS?
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
