& Process

Got the opportunity through a staffing agency. The first stage was a phone call. Then, after a couple of days, I got a call for an in-person interview. I went to their office for the subsequent rounds. I had to wait about 30-45 minutes before my interview started. The interview itself was quite long, lasting around 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes. The interviewer seemed to have mixed reactions, and I was told I'd hear back within 1-2 days. Unfortunately, it's been 2 months, and I haven't received any response, so I assume I didn't get the job.

Applied online after coming to my university. First a 30 minute telephone interview which asked some interesting questions such as criticisms about the app and different blipps you have tried out, as well as generic questions such as a walk through your CV and education. Next a face to face interview with two employees, this was more of a high pressure environment where questions were tough. Being put into a hypothetical situation and being asked what you would do. Also technical questions about the app and improvements that could be made. I got a call in the next hour for a final stage interview which consisted of 4 separate interviews including a cultural fit, technical interview and two interviews with director level employees. Very quick process, less than two weeks.

A recruiter reached out to me and I had an initial interview with a Computer Vision engineer on the team. This interview was quite long, over 1.5 hours, and it covered general Computer Vision and Machine Learning concepts, along with programming and algorithms. Following that, I went through three more interviews and also completed a code challenge. I was able to work on the code challenge at my own pace, and it wasn't overly difficult. After the fourth interview, I was informed that they had found another candidate who was a better fit for the role.

The interview process was a bit long with big gaps between interviews, but the interviews themselves were pretty straightforward. I met a lot of the team and they seemed like a bright, friendly group. I didn't get a great sense of what it would be like to actually work there day-to-day, as I only saw a meeting room, but the office I did see looked pretty snazzy. The team seemed really busy, which also contributed to the lengthy process.
