Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Blend.
Recruiter
I was referred and connected with the recruiter. We had an initial call, followed by a half-day onsite a couple weeks later with the team. It was great meeting everyone, and it's obvious they have a strong team and company culture, plus the newer office is quite nice. The Blend team did a great job with the interview process and candidate experience. For a recruiting role, it was significant that I got to meet the CTO, which really highlights how much the Blend team values recruiting. The interview questions were good, and the people I met were very welcoming. They kept in touch well. Although I took another offer for reasons unrelated to Blend, I'd still recommend them to good people I know!

Recruiter
I got referred to Blend Labs and interviewed the next week, so props to them for moving fast. Most interviewers were cool, but one guy who just started from a big company kinda threw me off. He seemed more focused on whether I thought like him or was as smart as him, rather than checking out my skills. I dunno if I nailed his questions, but I've seen this happen before, and it can lead to people not getting jobs they're good for. I also talked to their VP of People, but I'm not sure what he was going for. I just let him steer the chat, and we ended up talking about his department plans more than me. Maybe he was trying to recruit me? Anyway, I got a rejection email from the recruiter, but then she ghosted me when I asked for feedback to help with future interviews. She was super nice before that, so it was a bummer to get shut out like that – like good manners only count when you pass.

Talent Sourcer
The interview process consisted of two phone screens with different employees, and then a final video interview with four employees. I really liked all the interviewers, they were great and made me feel comfortable. No tricky questions were asked, they were more interested in my experience and shared what they were looking for in a candidate and what the job is like. Blend's interview process was the best out of all the companies I applied to.
