So, there were a few calls and video meetings with people at Blend. First, a screener call with the recruiter. Then, a video meeting with the Hiring Manager. After that, a video meeting with QA for a technical interview. Finally, a half-day video interview.

heads up: interviewing with this company is a serious time sink. the process started with no fewer than three phone screenings. first is their recruiter, then the head of QA, then an engineer. expect long delays between each of them. if you make it to an in-person interview, expect to interview with something like SIX people. i did poorly on 1 out of 6 and was not extended an offer. i had informed them that i have a lot of experience with SQL, one of their "nice-to-haves" for this position. i was not quizzed on it. during one portion, they had me do free work for them. the CTO interviewed me and wanted to watch me perform exploratory testing on their product, which yielded several bugs. these people are very picky and have no qualms with using your time as they see fit. know your stuff, and make sure you really want to work here, as you will end up devoting a lot of your time and energy to their interview process.
