So, first I had to do this project, and then two engineers reviewed it. They seemed really interested in what I made and asked good questions to understand it better. They were cool when I talked about some of the tough parts. After that, there was a behavioral interview with the usual questions. It felt more like a chat than a formal interview, which was nice. It was a pretty good experience overall!

The recruiter reached out on LinkedIn. I responded, asking if the role was front-end focused since I'm not strong in backend, though I can work with it if necessary. The recruiter confirmed and set up an interview. During the interview, the interviewer asked a backend question I didn't know. I tried to answer and asked clarifying questions, but he responded with 'I don't know,' which felt rude. After the first question, he stated I wasn't a good fit. I informed him to let the recruiter know that this is a full-stack role, not just UI. He was polite but dismissive.
