First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Blackrock Neurotech.
Software Engineer
Outside of the usual questions like strengths, weaknesses, and why you applied, we quickly jumped into my technical background to see if I had experience with embedded systems and FPGAs. When I brought up negative reviews about some parts of the company, the interviewer was really open about the areas needing improvement and how we could make those changes, instead of giving a canned response.
- Can you tell me how many years you've been working with Verilog?
Clinical Affairs Specialist
I interviewed with the hiring manager, then had 2 rounds with the cross-functional team. The CEO was my final interviewer. The whole process felt really friendly and informative, and it seems like a great company with interesting technology.
- Can you share your experience with regulatory work?
- How do you manage regulatory tasks?
Project Manager Engineer
First off was a quick phone chat with my future manager, covering my engineering and project management background and asking why I left my last job. Then, I went in person to meet with two managers I'd be working with. We talked more about my experience, my goals, and they explained the role and what they needed. They also asked about my hobbies. The last interview was a Teams call with those same two managers and the CEO. It felt like the CEO wanted a quick read on me for cultural fit and to see if I was sharp, not so much about the job details.
- Can you explain why you are no longer employed by your previous company?
- Describe your approach to resolving conflicts between two parties that require your collaboration.
Buyer/Planner
The interview had 4 parts: a first call to screen me, a technical interview with the Director, a cultural interview with the team, and then reference checks. My biggest issue was with the reference checks. After the 2nd and 3rd parts, the Operations Director hinted that I was going to get an offer. They asked for 2-3 references from my current job before giving the offer. I gave them contacts from my current job, and the recruiter said the feedback was good. But then I waited 3 weeks and didn't get the offer. I'd tell people not to give references from their current job, no matter what they say. Blackrock Neurotech can really mess things up for you.
- Can you share an instance where you missed a purchasing deadline?
