Manager
First, there was an HR check to see if your duties and responsibilities matched the job description. Then, a second tech round with case studies relevant to your post. After that, a panel round also with case studies relevant to your post. Finally, a department head round, and a CEO round.

First, there was a quick pre-screening with an external HR person for about 5-10 minutes. They asked about my Visa status, salary expectations, and if my experience was a good match. The second interview was with the hiring manager, who I'd be working for directly. This one was more about seeing if I'd be a cultural fit and just getting to know me. The third interview was a case study, but I stopped the process there. You really need to know the products well for this role.

Vice President
I've applied to BlackRock three times over five years, and each time, a former colleague reached out, saying I'd be a great fit and suggesting I apply. The first time, I got no feedback, just saw 'unsuccessful' in the portal later. The second time, there was a brief 10-minute recruiter chat with basic questions; they couldn't answer my job/team questions. Two months later, my portal status was 'unsuccessful.' The third time, I interviewed with the hiring manager, which seemed to go well, with good feedback from my ex-colleague. But it's been over six months with no direct word from BlackRock recruitment, and my application is still 'In Progress.' While I've heard great things about BlackRock as a workplace, their candidate experience needs serious improvement. A job application is a two-way street, especially when staff have reached out to me about the roles three times.
- What motivates your interest in joining Blackrock?
Assistant
This was a terrible interview experience. The receptionist was the nicest person there. I interviewed with the Director of VP Administration, who seemed to be the office manager. She wasn't friendly and asked very basic questions, like it was for an entry-level or first job. She didn't have my resume and didn't seem to care about my experience. When I started to ask questions, she rudely told me to let her finish first. I wouldn't want to work with someone like that.
