So first I had this call with the recruiter, and after that the other needed stakeholder interviews for the role. They were supposed to be VP of Sales, Sales Director, Partner Director, Solutions Engineer, Account Executive. But I only talked to the first two stakeholders.

I had a great time interviewing at Blackpoint Cyber! The whole process was put together nicely. After I applied, they got back to me in about a week, and a recruiter sent an email to set up a short first call. I then met the hiring manager and some of the team members over two rounds. They were upfront about what the job entails, asked good questions, and told me to ask them about their time at the company.

My interview for the MDR Analyst job at Blackpoint Cyber was great. The interviewers were really into my threat detection and incident response background. I felt good talking about my experience and handled their technical questions well. I also felt a good connection with the team and got a sense of the company vibe, which seems like a very team-oriented and helpful place. I'm eager to use my skills at a company doing advanced security stuff.

The entire interview process took a bit over 4 weeks. I managed to start and finish up with 4 different companies and get offers from them in that same timeframe. The people I spoke with were generally nice, but their interview process could really use some standardization to speed things up, unlike most companies in the industry that do 1-2 one-hour phone screens and then a longer virtual onsite. Having these one-hour chats spread out over a month was a real drag. Also, I didn't speak to any women during the whole interview loop. To be fair to Blackpoint Cyber, you can't always prioritize diversity, and you have to be super selective with candidates to keep a startup lean, but it's a two-way street, and you don't have to prioritize Blackpoint Cyber, you can be super picky with them.

  • Asked Leetcode easies.
  • Asked lots of behavioral questions.
  • Asked hands-off system design questions.
