First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Black Rock Coffee Bar.
Barista
The interview was really laid-back. First, there was a general chat, and then the assistant manager interviewed me. They asked me to talk about a situation where I didn't meet a deadline and then asked a lot of more personal questions.
- Why did you choose us out of all the places available?
Cashier Barista
You need to show up in person to apply. Interviews happen in person with the store manager and the general manager. It's pretty easy overall; onboarding doesn't take too long. Just be open, if you show you're willing to work hard, they'll probably accept you.
- Do you have prior experience in the coffee industry?
Cashier Barista
The interview was pretty easy, no problems at all, everything was very clear. The staff was professional and the whole process went smoothly. They were all really nice too. It was a very in-depth interview. The questions weren't hard to answer.
- What makes you a good fit for this job?
Cashier Barista
The interview process was straightforward and was done in a group interview. Mostly was questioned for who we were as individuals, also asked behavioral questions. Very standard interview process, didn't particularly mattered if you did coffee previously, they were looking more towards personality and ability to work at their pace.
- How have you handled conflict situations in the past?
