It was super quick, I just walked in with my resume to check if they were hiring and they told me to come back the next day. The next day I interviewed with a floor manager, who was really easy going and just wanted to get some info. The day after that, I had a second interview with the GM, which was more of a personal interview to see how I presented myself and socialized. Overall, a good process.
- What's your strategy for managing a busy restaurant environment?
Server Assistant
The interview had two stages: first with a manager below the general manager, which went well and was enjoyable. The second part was with the general manager, who seemed unapproachable. He barely smiled and I initiated the handshake. After only three questions, he brought up my lack of Wednesday availability. He then stared at my application for a while before stating he was moving forward with another candidate. When I asked why, he repeated he was moving forward with someone else, shrugging. I thanked him for his time. Throughout this, he avoided eye contact, didn't smile, and didn't offer a handshake, which felt like a significant negative indicator.
- Could you tell me about your greatest strength?
- What would you say is your biggest weakness?
- How has your experience been at your current employer?
Server
The interview was pretty straightforward. They started by asking about my availability, my previous experience, and what I consider my biggest strengths and weaknesses. After that, there was a training period of about four days, which concluded with a final exam.
- Can you tell me about your greatest strengths and weaknesses?
