I went for a SWE intern position. First, I chatted with the Engineering Manager about my resume and why I wanted the internship. Then, in the technical interview, I got a problem to solve on my own, and the interviewer came back after about 45 minutes to talk about my approach. It was kind of weird not having them there during the problem-solving part, but I guess it was fine. I think my code was mostly right, just needed a small tweak which I pointed out, but they still rejected me without any feedback. I also reached out to HR but heard nothing back. The technical problem itself was okay, but the way the interview was set up and the lack of feedback made it feel not so great and could be better.

First, you talk to an HR person for about 30 minutes. Then, you'll have a 1-hour chat with one or two engineers. They'll want to hear about your past experiences and your resume, and they'll also give you an overview of their company. At the end of this chat, they might ask a few technical questions about algorithms or technologies you've used. The next step is a take-home test that should take you around 4 hours to complete. After that, there's a higher bar with an engineer from a different team, and possibly a final discussion with a hiring manager.

I went through two online interviews. The first was behavioral, where we discussed my background, projects, and motivations for applying. It was a really relaxed and stress-free conversation. The second interview was technical. I had a few hours to work on implementing a small library. I struggled a bit with this one, but the interviewers were understanding. I think they liked how I explained my thinking process and how I evaluated my own solution, pointing out its shortcomings and potential improvements. They gave me another chance to complete the library.
