Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bitly.
Product Designer
Had an initial chat. The person interviewing me was nice and we had a good conversation. They said they'd let me know their thoughts, but I never heard back. Overall, it was just okay.
- Can you describe your previous projects and responsibilities?
Product Designer
First, there was a recruiter phone screen, followed by a chat with the hiring manager. Then, there was a cross-collaboration interview, a values interview, a whiteboarding challenge, and finally, a call with the head of Design. The recruitment team was great to work with. You could tell everyone interviewing was really into the company and product, which made it interesting and engaging. It was one of the best interview experiences I've had!
- What distinguishes Growth from Engagement, and what KPIs has your team utilized previously?
- Could you elaborate on your experience collaborating with Engineering and Product Management teams?
Product Designer Intern
The first interview was a phone call where they asked some basic behavioral questions like why I'm interested in Bitly, my future career goals, and what I like most about the design process. The second interview had two parts: first, a review of my portfolio case study, and second, a values interview where I was given hypothetical situations and asked to explain how I'd handle them and how I collaborate with others in a team setting.
- What do you enjoy most about the design process?
