First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bird Construction.
Estimating Student
It was a pretty standard process. They asked some general questions about my past experiences and got to know me. Since it's an entry-level job, there weren't many technical questions, so be ready for behavioral and situational stuff. The HR person was really helpful, explaining everything about the interview and guiding me through it.
- Could you tell me about any past experience you have with general contracting?
QA/QC Coordinator
I had a brief chat with a recruiter over the phone. They asked me about my CV details, my career goals, what kind of roles I'm looking for, and if I'm open to moving for other jobs at the company.
- Could you introduce yourself?
- Tell me about your background based on your CV.
- What are your career goals?
Contract Specialist
The hiring process was split into 3 parts: first, a video pre-screen, second, an interview with HR and the hiring manager, and third, a technical assignment. The pre-screen involved about 5 to 8 general questions about my background, why I was interested in the company, my knowledge of the company, my 5-year goals, salary expectations, and my preferred work environment.
- Could you elaborate on your experience?
- Name three qualities of a contract administrator and identify the one you find most challenging.
- Provide an example of when you had to share difficult news with your team and explain how you handled it.
Project Assistant
The interview felt relaxed and welcoming from the beginning, which helped me feel at ease. It started with easy questions about my background, letting me talk about my experiences without pressure. It was more like a casual chat than a formal interview. The interviewer shared information about the company culture and how the project team collaborates. The process was simple, with clear details about what happens next.
- Tell me about yourself, your past positions, and your abilities.
