I went through four rounds of interviews for a senior marketing position at BirchStreet, meeting with various people including the CMO, CEO, and sales leaders. The interviews themselves were good, but the process between each step was really slow and confusing. I often wouldn't hear anything for weeks, sometimes close to a month, even when I followed up. The recruiter was sorry about the internal delays and explained them, but the disorganization and lack of updates made it hard to stay enthusiastic. For a leadership role, I expected more urgency and professionalism. It felt like the whole process was an afterthought. I decided to withdraw because the slow pace and poor communication made me question how the company operates daily. My advice to management: If you're interviewing senior candidates, respect their time. Long silences and indecision signal internal problems. Be upfront about your process, timeline, and what you expect, or you'll lose good candidates.

I had an initial phone screen with the recruiter. We talked about my background and how it was a great match for the role, given my 6 years of experience in a similar position. However, the hiring manager decided not to move forward with further interviews because they felt my background wasn't the right fit.

The process was smooth, with the HR team being very responsive and scheduling multiple rounds quickly. There were three rounds in total, with interviews involving the Director, VP, and CTO. An offer was extended on the same day the interviews were cleared.

So, for the technical assessment, you might get a technical test. If it's a technical job, this means coding challenges or problem-solving. For creative jobs, it could be looking at your portfolio or a design test. If you do well in the first part, you might get invited to a second interview. This is where you meet more people from the team. They'll ask more about your skills and what you've done, and maybe some tougher technical stuff.
