I applied online and heard back within 24 hours. They asked me to come in on a Saturday morning for an interview. As soon as I arrived, I was given an assignment to test my understanding of the role. The interview itself felt fair and conversational. They asked standard questions like, 'Why Birchbox?', 'What are your current responsibilities?', and 'What can you contribute to this role?'. The next day, I received a project to complete by Sunday evening. Then, I had another meeting with a different team member to discuss role specifics, which felt positive and fair. I also had to present my project, which I was told I did exceptionally well on. Meanwhile, another team at Birchbox contacted me, believing I'd be a great fit for their opening too, so I was interviewing for two positions simultaneously. HR wasn't involved, and I wasn't clear on the process, which I found confusing and potentially detrimental to my candidacy. Despite sending thank-you notes, I received generic rejection emails. When I requested feedback to understand how I could improve, given how well I thought things went, I received no response. This left a negative impression, especially considering the time invested. I suspect external factors, like an internal promotion or a personal connection, might have influenced the outcome. Overall, the interview experience itself was positive.

The interview process was pretty straightforward. Everyone was really good about telling me what was next and what they expected for the job. I started with a phone chat with HR, then another one with the team lead. They gave me a quick skills test to do. After that, I went in for interviews with a bunch of people on the team, from different management levels. Overall, it was a good experience compared to other places I've interviewed at in retail.
