There were a couple of rounds. What matters is the personality you bring. The first was a screen of your experience, and the second was in person where your social skills are put to the test. Makes sense for a company that really prides itself in the quality of its coffee and team.

I applied online and Birch contacted me pretty quickly. I was excited since I love their coffee. The HR person who interviewed me was kind of rude though. They asked me questions and then cut me off when I was trying to answer. They didn't even look at me and talked down to me the whole time. The interview was supposed to start 20 minutes after the scheduled time and only lasted 5 minutes. They didn't ask me anything about my background or what I'd done, even though it was all relevant. I guess it was for the best because I didn't get an offer and they said they were going with other people who were more qualified.

I had an interview in LIC and the person seemed nice. When we got into the room for the actual interview, he spoke really fast, like he just wanted to get it over with. He mainly asked about my availability. I asked all the questions for the rest of the time. Another person had an interview before me and it was super short, like four minutes. It felt like they didn't care about anything I said and kept interrupting me. It was a shame.
- What are your available times?
Barista
It was a virtual interview but everything went smoothly. The interviewer was nice. The questions were the usual you’d get asked. I liked the whole process. Asked about my experience and what my availability was. Nothing too stressful about the interview at all.
- Tell me about your coffee experience.
