First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Biomason.
Biologist
It went really well, super enthusiastic. They got to know me and I was identified as the hydrothermal vent expert. It was my first interview and I really enjoyed it.
- Can you introduce yourself?
Research Scientist
Had a few phone interviews first, then an onsite with 5 team members who were mid-senior to senior level. It felt more like a check for culture fit than a technical interrogation. It was enjoyable talking with the team, who were clearly bright and enthusiastic, and getting a look at how things work.
- Can you share some examples of creative achievements from your past?
- Have you encountered situations in the past where you had to work without a clear structure?
Research Scientist
The interview process spanned over six hours. The HR part of the process was not well put together. After I finished the last round of interviews, HR told me the company had a hiring freeze and they'd contact me again in the next fiscal year. Not long after that, I saw on LinkedIn that there were multiple layoffs.
- Do you have experience with microbial metabolism?
