After I applied online for the Cell Pathology/Technician job, I was immediately called in for an in-person interview. The interview was pretty standard. They really wanted to dig into the skills I listed on my resume and my previous work history. The job posting on Biospace was a bit misleading because it said it was an entry-level role with no prior experience needed, just a degree in a related field and the ability to follow an SOP. I found the staff and management to be knowledgeable but a bit condescending. They didn't even introduce themselves or explain their roles or what the job actually entailed, beyond saying it was 'intensive lab work'.

I had a quick phone interview with a scientist who asked about my background and if I knew about the company. They then set up an onsite interview for later that week. There, I met with a panel of 3 people, including the one from the phone call. They asked about my background and then quizzed me on experiment steps I've done. They were really surprised and rude when I said I hadn't done tissue embedding and staining, even though I mentioned it in my cover letter and it wasn't on my resume. They also asked about working overtime and weekends. The interviewers were condescending. At the end, they asked if I knew how to get out and dismissed me. I was offered a second interview, but I turned it down because the office and the interviewers' attitudes were so bad. I figured I'd be unhappy there, and they didn't seem happy either.

I applied online and got a call to set up a phone interview. After that, I was told to come in for a face-to-face interview. I really should've listened to the reviews about how bad this company is because after I got there, I had to wait an hour past my interview time. There was no receptionist and the place looked gloomy. The interviewer was unprepared and unprofessional. After I told her what salary I was expecting (I gave her a low number just to see because I wasn’t interested anymore), she clearly lost interest.
