Biodesix Interview Questions
& Process

It was a multi-stage interview process. I enjoyed meeting everyone involved. The process was efficient and not repetitive. Communication was very clear. There was also an assessment that I had to complete and pass to continue in the hiring process.

The process was super fast because they needed me to start training, like 3 weeks. It started with a phone screen, then a remote meeting with the hiring manager. After that, I did a personality test. Then, I had an in-person meeting with the hiring manager where I had to give a product presentation. The last step was meeting with the AVP at Biodesix in CO.

The first person I spoke with didn't seem super clear on what they were trying to figure out with their questions. They kept asking vague follow-ups like 'tell me more' to typical questions. At the end of the chat, they said they'd be in touch soon. I emailed them a week later to check on my application status, but never heard back.

It was a PhD position. The interview process started with a long phone call, followed by a full day of on-site interviews. I met with several pairs of researchers for Q&A sessions, aiming to assess my aptitude for the role and my overall fit. About midway through, I gave a 45-minute presentation. The experience was quite good overall, giving me a sense of what working there would be like. I did feel a bit of pressure to work longer than standard hours and under significant stress. The employees were very smart and capable, and seemed like people I could work well with. Ultimately, I was disappointed. My experience is that for higher-level roles, if a candidate is close to an offer, the company usually communicates one way or another. This company didn't, which just reinforced my feeling that Biodesix might not be the best place to work.
