First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bigelow Tea.
Design Lead
I had an initial interview with HR and then talked to the hiring manager. They asked standard, automated questions like 'Describe your strengths and weaknesses.' It was polite and organized, but no follow-up in two months. The pay and benefits seemed low.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
Procurement Specialist
The whole interview day is like, super old school, from the 80s. They give you this full agenda with everyone you're meeting and their job titles. The questions are pretty much the same from one person to the next. They tend to focus on what they think is missing from your resume or your whole work history, which is kinda weird since, you know, if they thought you weren't a fit, why invite you? Some people there even give you a heads-up about the other interviewers you'll meet.
- What is your motivation for seeking employment with our company?
- Do you have a preference for tea or coffee?
- Are you someone who likes to cook?
Group Leader
The interview process was really disorganized. I decided not to continue because the company reviews were worrying and the pay was very low. The CEO seems to be involved in everything and sounds like a micromanager. They require a mandatory 5 days a week in the office. While it sounds like there's decent growth potential and the business is profitable, the very specific culture and way of working weren't worth the low salary.
- Can you tell me about your previous experience?
Customer Service Representative
It was a great process, really thorough and effective. They asked me situational questions which helped me get a great view of the day-to-day tasks for the job. I also got to ask questions in depth and get a clear understanding of the company.
- In what ways can you contribute to this role?
