Cashier
Got a call back super fast after applying. It was a really straightforward, quick, and chill chat. Some parts felt a bit too casual, even unprofessional. They wanted to know about your personal strengths for the job and what your plans are down the road. Just a heads up, they go through people quickly and the pay isn't great, pretty standard for retail.
- What are your long term intentions?
- What qualifications do you have for this role?
- What personality traits do you possess that aid in customer service?
Store Manager
The hiring process took about a month. It started with a phone interview, then I met the Area Manager face-to-face, and most recently, I had a face-to-face interview with the COO in early June. They said I'd hear back within a week, but it's been three weeks. I'm guessing the job was filled, and they probably won't let me know either way.
- Can you tell me about your availability?
- Can you share an example of a time when you encountered a situation where you had to think on your feet?
Sales Associate
I interviewed with the assistant manager. They stressed that being available for a mixed schedule and weekends is important. It felt like a relaxed interview. They asked about my last job and why I left, and how much experience I had. After I got the offer, they seemed welcoming. Because of a limited budget, staffing is low. There needs to be more training on the products, and the pay is lower than competitors.
- Do you have previous retail experience?
Store Manager
The interview process was informal and pretty quick, less than an hour each time. They seemed genuinely interested in you at first. The first interview was a phone call. Then there was a one-on-one with the Area Manager. The last interview was with the Area Manager and the Director of Purchasing.
- Were you able to manage a store to a profit and loss statement in the past?
