Applying was super easy. To get noticed, you had to go to the store and talk to the manager to make sure they saw your application. If they liked it, they'd call to set up an interview, and if you got that far, you were pretty much hired. The interview itself wasn't super formal, so no need for a suit, but still dress nice. Just be polite, answer their questions, and seem like you're into the job. They also did a drug test.

I didn't feel welcome when I arrived for the interview. When I followed up, the person I spoke with kind of ignored me. I followed up two times over two months, and they were just stringing me along, saying they hadn't decided yet but would call if anything opened up. Honestly, they could have just told me I didn't get the job instead of leaving me hanging like that. I can take the truth.

They interviewed me in a cafe next to the deli, which looking back I think was unprofessional. They determined salaries themselves, which led to big differences. For example, someone who started at the same time might have made 50 cents more, even if you had the same experience and factors.
