First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bharat Petroleum.
Executive Engineer
The interview process was straightforward. It began with a group discussion (GD) involving 10-11 students, with the number potentially varying based on the interviewers. The topics for the GD could be anything general, usually related to current events or trending topics. Students who passed the GD were then invited for a personal interview (PI). The PI assessed communication skills and presence of mind, along with some technical and aptitude questions. Finally, there was a background check.
- Considering a job offer, what region of the country would be your preferred work location?
Engineer
We started with a group discussion, which was the main elimination round. Only about 3 out of 15 people in the group made it through. After that, the selected candidates were interviewed by a panel of up to 4 members.
- Can you explain NPSH?
- What do you know about refrigeration?
- Tell me about Hydraulics.
Engineer
Shortlisting is done through GATE. After that, they ask technical questions related to the company's operations, which are simple from an academic perspective. First, there was a group discussion, and then we were asked to leave for the day. The next day, we were called back for an interview, which was quite difficult.
- Could you complete this mass transfer problem?
