First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Beyond Identity.
Account Executive
The interview process was pretty standard for a sales position. It started with a recruiter screen, followed by a call with a potential sales leader. Then, there was a call with the head of engineering, and finally, a call with a senior leader, who happened to be a co-founder. The last step involved a mock presentation or sales call. Although they narrowed it down to two candidates, neither of us received an offer. The company seems to be in a startup phase and is still figuring out its direction and product differentiation. I was really interested in the role, but it felt like their uncertainty was more prominent than my track record as a sales rep.
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
- Can you elaborate on your past experiences?
Executive Assistant
The interview was a really good experience. Ava was great to talk to and kept me informed, and the whole thing was fast and easy. Everyone I met was nice and easy to talk to. I liked that I didn't feel like just another person interviewing; it felt like they really wanted to get to know me. I got a verbal offer the day after my last interview, and the written offer came right after that. The whole process was done in a week. Ava made it all super smooth!
- Tell me about your startup experience.
Solution Architect
The interview process had four rounds, with each round involving increasingly senior members of the team. I spoke with the Chief Solutions Architect, the Director of Partner Solutions, and the VP of Security, and those conversations went pretty well. However, the interview with the CTO was a bit of a mess. He no-showed the first scheduled interview, and when we rescheduled, he took the call on his phone while he was making coffee and taking his dogs outside. It felt like he was more focused on showing off his nice house than on the interview. After investing about 5 hours across the four rounds, the recruiter just ghosted me, which gave me a vibe of a dated startup culture.
- Can you describe the functionality of Windows Hello for Business?
- Could you elaborate on Azure AD?
- What is your understanding of Zero Trust?
Software Engineer
It was a two-interview process. The first one was with a Principal Engineer where they asked some basic technical questions and reviewed my background. This felt like a standard, professional interview. The second interview, however, made me regret not reading reviews beforehand! This one was conducted by more junior members of the 'team' (though not the team I would have joined), and it was entirely non-technical. The questions were all geared towards eliciting 'correct' social responses. This company seems very focused on diversity and inclusion, which might not be for everyone. I got the strong impression they prioritize creating a certain image over hiring skilled software developers. It also became clear during the interview that they were hiring more people without a clear plan for their roles.
- Can you talk about your previous projects and emphasize the parts that relate to the job description?
- We're going to ask you a series of questions about social situations, similar to an HR interview but conducted by less experienced software developers.
