I had meetings with two sales managers and the CEO. They asked thoughtful questions and gave me a good chance to present my qualifications. It was a positive experience, and they offered me the job.

I found this role online and after applying, I had a first round phone screen which was a pretty standard convo about why I was interested in the org and to tell them about my background. Shortly after, I had a face to face with 5 people. They mentioned they'd send a follow-up email within 2 weeks after the onsite interview with a decision, but they never did. It's a poor candidate experience, but this org has a lot going on. While it's a cool product, it seems like they have many growing challenges and haven't fully settled in yet, especially considering they laid off close to 100 people the previous year.

So first I had to do this online coding test, it took about 2 hours and was kinda medium difficulty. I didn't do great, missed a bit of the last problem out of the 4, but they must have thought it was okay. Then, for the phone interview, I chatted with a co-founder and a senior dev. For the onsite, I met five people. One of them did a simple whiteboard coding problem with me, two others wanted to know details about my past projects, and one went over the coding test I took earlier (which was good because I figured out what I missed after doing it).

Got referred in late Feb, then interviewed with the team twice in early March. Got a rejection email a few days after the second interview because I didn't have management experience. The whole process took 4+ hours over 2 days with 6 people. They rejected me for experience they already knew I lacked. Startups are messy, but this was super time-consuming and a big disappointment. Felt like they didn't know what they wanted until the end.

Imagine a 2D grid representing people with their resistance power. A disease spreads from someone with higher resistance to someone with lower resistance. If you know the position of a sick person, how would you find all the people who get infected?
