First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Beumer.
Accountant
The interviewing process is excessive and overwhelming: 1 HR interview for 1 Hour. 2 HR interview with a 2nd person for 1 hour to schedule the next interview. 3 Phone interview with a 3rd person for another hour. 4 Video interview with the CEO for one hour. 5 In person interview with HR (#1 and 2) for 30 minutes. 6 In person interview with operations for one hour. 7 In person interview with controller for one hour.
- Interview questions varied.
Mechanical Engineer Drafter
I met the hiring team at the University Career Fair and had a really good chat with the HR representative, who was super friendly and easy to talk to. About a month later, I got called in for an interview at their facility in Somerset, NJ. The whole thing took about 3 hours. First, they gave me a tour of the place and told me about the company culture and benefits, which lasted about an hour. Then, I met with one of the mechanical engineers and their lead, and they interviewed me for the remainder of the time. They asked me some technical questions and about my past projects. Once they were done, the same HR person from the career fair came by to see me off and make sure I had a good experience.
- How would you approach designing a conference telephone using SolidWorks?
- Suppose a client wanted to order several dozen conference room telephones, what would be your proposed process for manufacturing and design?
- What were your least favorite college courses, in order?
Mechanical Project Engineer
A recruiter reached out and after a brief screening call, set up an interview with the Mechanical Engineering manager and VP of Operations. They asked behavioral questions about my past experience. A week later, I had a second interview, again with the ME manager and VP of Ops, as the sales manager didn't show. The ME manager asked some easy technical questions. Two weeks after that, I met with the CEO for a get-to-know-you chat as part of a new company policy. I received an offer later that week.
- I was asked to share stories about my past experience.
- What are the ways to determine the force resistance of a spring?
- Could you explain the working of a VFD?
Software Engineer
First they looked at my resume. Then there was a part where I had to read and debug some code, followed by several algorithm questions. They also asked some behavior questions like sharing a course project and how I handled tight schedules.
- Could you tell me about a course project you found interesting?
- Describe a time when you had to work under a tight deadline.
- Can you share your experience with reading and debugging code?
