Principal Software Engineer
The interview process included a 1st round with the Hiring Manager (VP) where I had to explain a system architecture diagram I worked on previously. Then there were two tech rounds: the 2nd was part 1 (coding) and the 3rd was part 2 (system design). The final round was a repeat of explaining the architecture diagram.
- Can you describe a system architecture diagram you've worked on before?
- Given a list with duplicate numbers, identify the positions of its first and last occurrences.
- What are some methods for optimizing the performance of PostgreSQL queries?
Software Engineer
I had 4 interviews: a get to know you, a high-level/low-level technical one, a culture fit, and a pair programming session. I really liked the interviews and felt like we all got to know each other well.
- During the paired programming interview, I was given a javascript test suite that had broken tests. My task was to find the issues and fix them to make the tests pass.
Software Engineer
Recruiter hit me up about an interview. My first interview was with the hiring manager, who spent time talking up the product. Then I had a phone interview with an engineer who was super rude. He asked a common ancestor question. I coded it with a hashmap and depth approach, and both my solutions worked and gave the right output. Still got rejected lol. The interviewer kept asking how I could code it perfectly without hints.
- How would you find the least common ancestor for a given tree where each node has an int value and a link to its parent?
