I put in my application on the internet and then rang them up like 3 days later to ask if someone would review it. The assistant manager looked at it while I was on the phone and set up an interview for 2 days after that. The interview was simple, the manager was really nice. It was a short interview, and I got hired right away.

So, I got this call from a recruiter, it seemed to go okay, and they said they'd follow up, but then... nothing (maybe because of covid?). Three months later, another recruiter reached out and wanted to do another phone interview. Apparently, notes aren't shared or saved? Anyway, that interview felt good, and then they wanted me to come in person to their HQ to meet with the Senior HR. I got there, and she was over an hour late and then cut the interview short because she had other stuff going on. If you've got the experience, honestly, you'd probably be better off looking somewhere else because this brand doesn't seem to value your time.

Behavioral Technical

I applied for a management position at Better Buzz coffee. My first interview was with HR and I think it went really well. She seemed to think I was a good fit and wanted to set up a second interview with the owner. I interviewed with the owner about a week later. After I arrived, the owner's first question was if I was married and how many kids I have. The interview went downhill after that and he only asked me about 3 broad questions that weren't related to management. He said they would let me know within a week or two. It's been almost a month and I haven't heard back. I've emailed HR and called multiple times for an update, but I feel like she's avoiding me now. I suspect my sexuality might have affected my chances of getting the position based on his question and my answer.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • HR asked relevant questions about management.
  • Were you married?
  • And how many children do you have?
