The staff seemed unprepared, and the interview felt thrown together. They asked about my experience and other get-to-know-you questions, rather than anything specific. It was clear they were looking for passion for their particular school.

The phone interview focused less on work skills and more on personal faith. The questions asked were very personal, even for a Christian university. I didn't hear back from Bethel after the interview, not even an email.

It was a super fast process, taking only 10 days from start to finish. We kicked things off with a quick 30-minute pre-screen, then I had an hour-long chat with my direct supervisor. After that, there was another hourlong meeting with my direct supervisor and their boss. The final step was a 45-minute interview with my supervisor and a coworker team. The interviewers were great and the expectations were really clear.

It wasn't a super long process, but there was a delay in getting a response because I was put forward so early. I had chatted with a professor I knew well about a research opportunity, and from there they put together a list and chose who would be considered for research roles. Then, faculty members reached out to students to see if they were interested in working with them specifically.
