Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BestMark.
Secret Shopper
The interview was very quick, under 20 minutes, and done via email and phone. They mentioned that they give incentives for jobs, and that pay is per shop. You might be limited on which jobs you can take until you prove yourself.
- What kind of car do you have?
- Would you be willing to go to car dealership service departments?
Scheduling Coordinator
Had a phone interview first. Then I went on-site to interview with two people. The interviewers were nice and the atmosphere was friendly. However, I quickly realized the job was mostly about calling potential candidates to set up work assignments. I also got the impression that the role might be heavily micro-managed, and I'm seeking a position with more autonomy. Additionally, the work hours didn't work for me, and the offered pay was lower than I can accept. So, I decided not to move forward as it wasn't the right fit.
- Are you seeking full-time or part-time employment?
Mystery Shopper
I didn't see any ads for this, but there's an online application and interview where you have to answer questions about your job history and soft skills, like 'why would you be a good shopper?' It took a few weeks to hear back that I was accepted as a shopper. I never spoke to anyone or got a follow-up email or call. No human contact at all, which is fine, but weird. Everything else is online too, like training and assignments.
- What makes you a suitable candidate for this shopper role?
- Can you describe the most challenging aspect of the application and interview stages?
- What kind of responses would demonstrate your suitability for becoming a shopper?
