Account Manager
I had a positive interview experience with everyone I met during the hiring process. They followed up quickly. I was able to ask a lot of questions and got honest answers fast, which made me feel really comfortable.
- What key strengths would you highlight that you bring to this role?
Server
It was a pretty chill interview process, I got accepted really fast, like the same day they reviewed my resume. It seems like a good place to work, though there's a lot of side work. The interview was straightforward and honest. They accepted me on the spot. The training is also quick. Overall, it's a decent place to work, especially if you're a student.
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
Accountant
I first heard about Bertucci's through Monster.com. An HR person reached out and we did a phone interview. A couple days later, they asked me to come in for two separate one-on-one interviews. I met with the controller and the CFO. The controller's interview was about an hour, and the CFO's was about half that. Both were pretty casual, but they were ready for me. They asked good questions that were relevant to the job, and I got enough time to make my case. It was a good experience overall. My only issue was waiting two weeks for an update after I emailed them. I think everyone who interviews in person should hear back about the outcome.
- Can you tell me about your previous job responsibilities?
- How do your past duties align with the requirements of this role?
Manager
I had a phone interview with someone from the hiring department, who was very professional and asked about my current job and career goals. After that, I had a 1-on-1 interview with the Area Director. This interview was very different; the director was unwelcoming and seemed to dislike me from the start. He had no personality and made the interview feel like a legal proceeding. Within ten minutes, it was clear he was a poor representation of the company. I've met many VPs and GMs, and he was one of the angriest and unfriendliest. He couldn't understand why I'd take a pay cut from my current, higher-paying restaurant job. I believe if you're unhappy with your job, you shouldn't stay just for the money, especially if the restaurant has many issues. So, if you consider this company, be aware that Malcolm, the director, will intentionally make you feel unwelcome. The recruiter did mention he could be aggressive, but I wasn't warned about his condescending and arrogant attitude. When he struggled to understand why I left my previous job, I made it clear he could contact my references. It just seemed lazy.
- What feedback would your colleagues provide regarding your work ethic?
