I had a 30 minute Zoom interview with two hiring committee members. For the first 10 minutes, they asked me some questions, and then I led the conversation for the remainder of the interview. They mentioned I'd get an update the following week. After a week passed, I followed up with the administrative assistant who set up the interview, but never heard back. About 6 weeks later, I received an automated email stating that I was not moving forward.

The hiring manager reached out after reviewing my resume. I went in for an interview with her, and then I also met with her manager. We discussed my background and what I could contribute to the role. They were especially interested in a specific part of my experience that would be useful for a project they have coming up, and we went into detail about that. In the end, they decided to promote someone from within the company.
