First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bergen Shippers.
Project Manager
The interview process was super straightforward. They're mostly trying to figure out if you're organized and a hard worker. Their philosophy seems to be that if you're sharp and determined, you can learn anything you don't know. It sounds like a really fast-paced place that's high-risk but also high-reward. The people there are like family and tend to stick around for a long time.
- Can you discuss your previous projects and the challenges you faced?
- What were the biggest hurdles you encountered when managing large-scale projects?
- For each project you've managed, what was the single most valuable lesson you took away?
Warehouse Manager
It was really fast. First, I had an interview with HR. Then, two days later, I interviewed with the facilities manager. They made a final hiring decision the week after that.
- Tell me about your experience.
Customer Service Representative
It was a pretty standard interview, with the usual questions, nothing too out there. The interviewer was really nice and took the time to explain the job thoroughly. I got to ask about the role, and they gave me direct answers. I followed up with an email afterwards, and I'm pretty sure that's what sealed the deal for me.
- What are your long-term career aspirations over the next five years?
Marketing Specialist
The owner of the company interviewed me directly. They emphasized the importance of English speaking skills and asked about my previous experience, salary negotiation, and the high workload, mentioning that sometimes work extends to Saturdays.
- Can you explain your job experience in English?
