Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bergen's Promise.
Care Manager
The interview felt like a laid-back chat. Make sure to check out their website and understand what a CM does. They throw in some "what would you do if" scenarios. Just answer them from the perspective of the CM, and you should do well. Try to sound as helpful and accommodating as you can.
- What would be your approach to guiding a meeting with a young person who has experienced sexual assault?
Care Manager
You start with a first interview that covers your resume and includes a few questions. Then, a second interview focuses on scenarios and how to use the wraparound model of care with families. After the interviews, you'll get a call about whether you're getting an offer. If an offer is accepted, then comes the background check, fingerprinting, and degree verification before you can start.
- Can you explain the wrap around model of care and its purpose?
Care Manager
I got a call, we talked about salary and a possible interview. Then I got an email with a link and instructions for the application. I had some tech issues and ended up filling out the application by hand. The day before the interview, they called to say they weren't interested in interviewing me in person anymore.
- What is your motivation for wanting to work at Bergen's Promise?
Care Manager
It was a pretty standard and straightforward interview process. They first called me for a phone screening. Then, I had two in-person interviews at their office. The second in-person interview included some questions about on-the-job scenarios and how I'd handle them.
- Can you describe your experience in this field?
- What are your approaches to handling common on-the-job situations?
