First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BERG.
Scientist
The interview process took about 7 weeks from resume submission to offer. It started with a 1-hour presentation I gave. After that, I had detailed interviews with my potential future boss and colleagues. They asked smart, professional questions that showed they really understood my field, with challenging questions about my presentation and my overall experience. It was tough but in a good way. They were upfront about answering questions about themselves and the company. The whole process was slow, and I got another offer before this one came through.
- What is your 5-year career outlook?
- How do you envision your career progression over the next five years?
Manager
I applied online for this senior management gig, and the whole thing took about 7 weeks. First, there were 2 phone screen interviews. Then, I had an in-person interview that lasted over 3 hours. After that, another 2 phone interviews followed, and then one more in-person interview. They gave me a verbal offer, saying they just needed to get it approved by the executive committee. Then, it went dead silent from HR for 2 weeks. Finally, after I reached out twice, they called back to say they couldn't actually offer me the position and were looking for someone more junior. Super frustrating experience. Make sure you don't waste your time here.
- When would you be available to start?
Project Manager Analytics
I had initial phone screens with HR and the hiring manager. Then I had a face-to-face interview with 8 managers. The whole process felt like a waste of time and I felt I was lied to multiple times. Their HR is even posting fake reviews because I mentioned their ratings are bad. Their actual rating is much lower than 2 stars. They seemed shady, especially when talking about their product, so consider this a warning.
- Can you tell me about your experience using JIRA?
- How do you handle team members who are causing problems?
Research Associate
I spoke with over 10 people throughout the interview process. While some interactions were productive, others felt like a waste of my time. I encountered interviewers who were brand new to the company and others who seemed rushed. There was also a significant waiting period of 45 minutes between two interviews. The senior management team came across as arrogant, and they seemed to have an inflated view of themselves and the company.
