Software Engineer
Had a phone call with the recruiter, then a technical interview with trivia questions, followed by a frontend coding interview. Don't trust the recruiters. The second technical round was supposed to be backend-based according to them, but the invite said frontend with full-stack questions. When I asked for clarification, they said the coding interview would be language-agnostic and algorithmic. It turned out to be a purely React technical interview.
- Could you build a React app following a mockup?
Software Engineer
I had a recruiter screen and then got scheduled for a 45-minute technical interview. I checked, and they said it would be a conversation about my technical background, not whiteboarding. However, the interview was mostly tech trivia. After 30 minutes, they asked me to open a Google Doc, share my screen, and solve an algorithm that was pasted into the chat. After I finished, they asked me to optimize it. I pointed out we were at the 45-minute mark, and the interviewer mentioned it should have been an hour. They asked if I was in a rush, and since I wasn't, I continued and optimized the algorithm.
- Can you explain the principles of RESTful APIs?
- Describe the data flow within a React application.
- Please implement the provided algorithm.
Software Engineer
I had a 45-minute call with the recruiter, then a 45-minute call with a Software Engineer II. After that, there were three 45-minute panels: one for frontend, one for cultural fit, and one for backend, focusing on API design. The team was great and I thought the interview process was super fair. My recruiter, however, was painful to work with. They sounded depressed and overworked, and also made rude comments about other companies I was interviewing with during the process.
- What are some algorithm questions?
- Can you build a React component?
- Are there any general cultural questions?
