They gave me a math problem and asked me to talk through how I would explain it to someone. It was a simple problem so they were mostly evaluating my thought process and explaining skills. They also asked about my experience.

There were two rounds to the interview process. The first round focused heavily on research, while the second round shifted to teaching. I don't recall every specific detail from both rounds.

I had a quick 5-minute call with HR, then a really long 3-hour interview on campus. I met with a few staff members and we talked about my background, what the department is aiming for, people we might both know, etc. I thought it went pretty well, but I didn't get my hopes up too high, you know? It's been like five months since I applied and the status on the website has been all over the place - 'Finalist', 'Hold B', 'In Progress', back and forth a bunch of times with no clear reason. Nobody's gotten back to me, and they've just ignored my messages asking for an update. I've found a job somewhere else by now, but I just had to say how disappointed and shocked I am by Bentley's hiring process. It's a shame because I liked the team and thought I could see myself working there, but after all this, it just wouldn't be a good fit. I usually expect people I work with to be responsive and respectful, even if they don't have all the answers. First impressions really do matter.

So I had this phone screen first, it wasn't too hard. Then about a week later, they had me come to campus for some one-on-one chats that lasted about two hours total. Things seemed to go well, so they asked me back for a second visit. This time, I met with some students, had a group interview with my potential coworkers, and also had to give a presentation. Everyone was really nice and professional during the whole thing.
