We had a zoom interview with the application committee and then a two day tour of the school, with a series of meetings with staff and students, and then a presentation of my own work to staff and students.

I went through a bunch of interviews for a job that was open. After several interviews and being told I was moving forward, they just disappeared. I left voicemails and sent emails, but heard nothing back. It was super confusing and not professional at all.

I applied for the job through the school's website and they reached out quickly to schedule a video call. The video interview was about 30-45 minutes long. They asked me why I was interested in Bennington and this specific role, how my past experience fit the job requirements, and what my approach was to student admissions outreach. I felt it went well and they mentioned they wanted to move fast and bring candidates to campus in the next couple of weeks. I sent a thank you email afterwards. About a week later, I followed up for an update and was told they were still interviewing candidates and I was still being considered, with an update to come soon. It's now been another two weeks since then, and I haven't heard anything, so I'm assuming they've gone with someone else. I found out later they hired someone else. I'm pretty disappointed with how this whole thing went, especially since it started off so promisingly. I also didn't get to speak with the main hiring manager or the director, but rather someone who seemed to be at my level. It's a bummer because I was really excited about the institution, and despite some concerns about its financial stability given issues with other small New England schools, I felt my own goals and the school's mission were a great match.

The interview process involved many different people and took a while to hear back. There were also a lot of questions about equity and inclusion.
