Marketing
I interviewed for a marketing role and felt like the conversation was mostly about why I left previous jobs, instead of my skills or how I could contribute. They barely touched on my marketing operations experience, campaign execution, or platform expertise, which I wanted to talk about. They also asked why I've been unemployed for a while. I explained it was due to a company-wide layoff last year from a restructure that affected many people. Given the current job market and layoffs, it's tough for many qualified people right now. I think a recruiter should be aware of this.
- Can you tell me about why you departed from your past positions?
- What led to your departure from those roles?
- What are the reasons for your extended time away from work?
Consultant
The interview process was very warm and friendly, making me feel quite prepared. Everyone was punctual, and it felt more like a conversation than a formal interview. Interestingly, we had a prior working relationship from a previous business.
- Could you describe your experience in transitioning companies from PEO to fully insured plans?
Sales Development Representative
So the interview process was alright overall. First, you have a phone screening, then they give you a take home assignment, and after that there are 2-3 more interviews. The interviews with the managers were awesome! Super nice, funny, and had great vibes. I got to the last round in August but then never heard back after finishing it. The recruiter was fast to reply after interviews, but totally ghosted me after the final one. After I didn't hear anything, I reached out and found out they were on a hiring pause. She never told me that. This is when people get annoyed with companies when they don't share info like that. Wouldn't recommend.
- Can you introduce yourself and tell me what you know about Bennie?
- For the take-home assignment, you'll need to submit email samples and a phone script for the hiring manager to review. This needs to be done within 48 hours and all in one Word document. If you move on to the next phone screen, we might discuss this further. First, pick a company you think Bennie would do well with and explain why in 2-3 sentences. Second, research that company and figure out the best person for Bennie to contact. Try to find two contacts in each target department (like HR, Operations, Finance) and their contact info if possible. Third, write a first-contact email to both of those people, including subject lines. Fourth, imagine one of them replied and wants to talk about Bennie! What would you say back? Create a brief pitch for this call, considering what you know about the company and the person, and make sure it has clear goals.
Customer Experience Manager
I was referred for this Customer Experience Manager role and was really excited, but honestly, the whole process was a letdown. The recruiter was unprofessional and communicated poorly from the get-go. They rescheduled our initial call last minute because of potential internet issues, but then still called at the original time, which was confusing. During our chat, the recruiter didn't seem to know much about the job and was unclear about the start date (May or July?). I sent a thank-you email, but got no response. Two weeks later, I followed up and was told they were waiting for the hiring team. It took two months to finally get a generic rejection email. Based on this hiring process, I'm not sure I'd want to work there.
- Can you introduce yourself and describe your experience with the Microsoft Suite?
- Do you have prior experience with benefits technology platforms?
- Have you managed a book of business before, and if so, what was its size?
