It wasn't a bad interview at first, but the outcome really ruined it. It started with a phone call, then an assessment, followed by an in-person interview with some senior people, and then a final virtual interview. I got really good feedback and they made it sound like I already had the job. But then I was rejected because they weren't actually looking for someone with my background, and all the interviews focused on stuff I could do easily. It's pretty frustrating, and I wish they'd been upfront about what they were looking for and the kind of background they wanted.

The interview process was pretty standard for public accounting. It involved back-to-back in-person interviews with three different people, after which there was an office tour and lunch. All three interviews, including the one with a partner, felt more like casual conversations to get to know each other.

Total waste of time. After a recruiter phone screen, I went in for a forensic accountant interview. It was disorganized with 7 emails back and forth with HR about rescheduling, even changing it the night before. I had FOUR interviews back-to-back with 1-2 people each, no breaks for water or the bathroom. The next interviewer would even come in while the previous one was still talking. It went from 9am to 12:30pm. Almost every interviewer said I lacked the usual audit experience they look for, basically telling me I wasn't qualified. I was honest about being a fresh grad with no audit experience, and the job posting didn't even mention audit experience. HR did a great job. I was also told that to reach a senior level, I'd need to find clients myself, with no mention of compensation, just expected to 'cheerlead'. The 'social interview' with staff/seniors heavily emphasized socializing and going to sports events. Surprise, I didn't get the job I wasn't qualified for. It still took a month to get the generic rejection email.

I had an initial call and then did a case study. The case study was pretty straightforward if you've worked in financial due diligence before. Honestly, it felt more suited for a senior role. After sending my resume, the company/HR just ghosted me. I have no idea what happened. Super unprofessional.
