The interview process was short, consisting of two interviews. The referral process was quick. The only issue was waiting for feedback to know if I would advance to the next stage. No other issues to report.

I talked to the hiring manager, who was really focused on the work itself and didn't seem very empathetic. It was disappointing that there wasn't much feedback after the interview, which made me think maybe working for that manager wouldn't be the best fit. Funny how things turn out, right?

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • The hiring manager asked a bunch of behavioral questions that didn't seem very relevant to the Product Manager role.
  • We had a good conversation, and they gave me a good sense of what it would be like to work with them.
  • The team I interviewed with was pretty enjoyable.

Bend Health is a great organization with some fantastic minds and a great mission, but I urge you, with caution: Please reconsider this place if you hope to advocate for your worth. When it came time for salary negotiations, I proposed a salary that was in accordance with the market and years of experience/achievements/education. After that, I was ghosted for two weeks before the hiring manager said that we'd have to pause hiring for a month due to an internal pivot. I sent follow-up emails and left voicemails with no response. A month later, I was notified by an automated email that the position was filled by someone else. This process felt incredibly dehumanizing to go through months of non-communication, constantly guessing and worrying whether or not I would have a job before the holidays. For an organization that prides on mental health, I strongly recommend they revise their hiring processes to be more considerate of applicants.

  • Tell me about your experience and general fit.
