The interview experience was alright, with typical questions. It was a panel interview, and while some interviewers were a bit cold, most seemed friendly. It didn't seem to go great, as I ended up getting ghosted by the hiring committee, similar to someone else's experience. I reached out twice but never got a response. It's pretty basic courtesy to reply, especially after I've taken time out of my day for your role. In the end, it's probably a good thing because I don't really want to work at a place that values their time more than a potential candidate's. It's disappointing how this lack of respect has become so common.

I applied online with my resume and two letters of recommendation. They emailed me back a few weeks later, around the end of Spring for the Fall quarter. I was traveling then, so we set up a one-on-one interview for late August. It was about an hour long. We discussed my education, work history, and teaching background, as well as the courses I wanted to offer, covering curriculum, audience, and learning outcomes. After I passed that, things moved fast and were easy. I got to look over the contract, salary, and benefits. There was also a required teacher training session at no cost. I started my first class a few weeks after the interview. My bosses have been great and supportive, both during hiring and now as an employee. I really like working with them.

I went through two rounds of interviews for this role. The first was a group interview with three people, and the second was a one-on-one with the head of the department. They did offer me the job, but the salary was way below what I was looking for and even what I currently make. They stuck to the lowest end of their stated budget and wouldn't budge at all, basically saying 'take it or leave it.' It feels like they advertise higher salaries online than they actually intend to pay. My advice? Be very clear about your salary needs upfront, or just steer clear of this place. They clearly don't appreciate their staff.

It was an interview with a panel that included the Program Coordinator, a Student Government Rep., and the current Desk Lead. They asked me questions about my previous customer service experience and gave me scenarios to consider, as well as general questions about my skills. They also questioned me about my resume and past experience. A key point was being asked about my familiarity with Bellevue College Student Programs.
