First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bellagio.
Front Desk Agent
Got a call back in a couple days from a hotel operations manager after an initial screening. They asked about my availability and then set a start date for training.
- Can you share an instance where you dealt with a very upset customer and describe your approach?
Business Center Representative
It was a pretty easy interview with normal questions and one scenario. They also asked about my experience with their software, my availability, and if I could work longer hours during busy season.
- Can you share an instance where you encountered a challenging problem to resolve?
- Do you have experience with the software we currently utilize?
- What is your general availability?
Pastry Sous Chef
Since I was living out of state, I skipped the initial interview and went straight into a 2-day tasting. I arrived on day 1 around 8 am. I didn't join the department chefs for lunch (I'd suggest you don't either, even though they'll invite you) and finished for the day around 6 pm. I returned the next morning at 8 am. The tasting concluded around 4 pm when I presented 3 plated desserts, 3 banquet desserts, and 3 petit fours to the Executive Chefs of the property, including the Exec. of MGM Las Vegas. After some casual conversation, the department chefs deliberated. About 20 minutes later, they gave me feedback on my tasting and then offered me the position. The start date takes a while with MGM, so factor in a 30-day wait.
- Can you discuss your previous roles and your experience as a Chef?
Front Desk Associate
Had two interviews total. The first one was with the hotel manager and it was the full blown interview with all the general interview questions. The second interview was with the director for them to meet you and to pretty much sum up if you're the best canidate for the position.
- What is your motivation for wanting to work at Bellagio?
- Can you work mornings, swing shifts, and grave shifts?
- Are you available to work holidays and weekends?
