I had a screen interview where the interviewer was super nice and asked typical questions. The recruiter said she'd call back in 3 days, but never did. She asked about my salary expectations, which I gave; when I asked her for the company's range, she claimed ignorance. I've met other recruiters who say they 'don't know'. It's just unprofessional to dodge that question. Either the recruiter is unprepared, or they're intentionally hiding info. I think they're still looking to fill this role.

I was bored with my server job, so I applied, and they called me back two months later to see if I was still interested. I had a phone interview first. Then I went to the property I'd be working at for an interview with the community manager. It was pretty laid back, but she had a list of questions from corporate she had to ask. I wrote a handwritten thank-you card, which she loved, and I think that helped me get the job. After that, I had a second interview with another community manager at a different property, and they asked the same questions. My third interview was with the regional manager. All the interviews were very relaxed, mainly checking how I'd fit into the company culture and if I had the right personality for the role.

I interviewed in-person with the manager. She was the only employee there so the interview was frequently interrupted. She asked more personal questions than work-related and mentioned a few times that there are a lot of angry residents at that location. After the interview she discussed next steps (second interview with regional director) and to send her references. I sent reference information the same day. Never heard from her again. I also followed up with my references and they said she never reached out. Waste of time.

I filled out an online application and aptitude test. I applied to a few different apartment complexes in my state and heard back from two of them about 2 to 3 weeks later. Both of them invited me for an in-person interview at one of their properties. That seemed to be more of a casual meet and greet where they could get a feel for my personality. After that, I had a follow-up phone interview with the regional manager. That one was more formal and focused on my previous sales experience and work ethic.
