I had an interview with two engineering managers. They were very professional and seemed highly skilled. The interview was long and some questions were quite pointed, but they were understandable given the nature of the position. The interview was conducted in both English and French. It's a good idea to prepare by reviewing the job description beforehand.

This was a typical interview for a big aerospace/defense company. I had a one-hour session with the Hiring Manager. The Hiring Manager was busy so they sent someone else from the team. It was relaxed and conversational, not stressful at all. It was good because I learned a lot about the department's work. It was actually enjoyable.

It was an unbelievable interview experience. It began with a recruiter who was dressed inappropriately. The hiring manager gave me a tour and asked an illegal question about my marital status. The director's interview involved him clipping his nails while asking me basic engineering questions. Afterward, he asked me to write a one-page essay on why he should hire me. I learned from a friend who worked there that the company culture was very old-fashioned, and she was planning to leave. An HR person invited me to lunch but made me pay for my own meal. After two months of waiting for an answer, they finally extended an offer, which I declined because I had found another job.
