First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Behr Paint Company.
Sales Associate
I got an email to schedule the first interview. It went well, and they said I'd get a call for a second interview once the Regional Managers were available. After four days with no response, I emailed them expressing my continued interest and eagerness for the second interview. They replied kindly, saying they were still waiting on the Regional Managers' schedules. It's now been two weeks, and I still haven't heard back. =( I would have accepted the job if the interview process had been completed.

R&D Chemist
The interview process spanned several stages, beginning with a 10-minute presentation. Following this, there were technical and non-technical rounds that assessed subjective knowledge. If selected, candidates proceeded to two additional rounds, culminating in an HR round. The entire process felt a bit lengthy, but the difficulty was average. I felt comfortable throughout, thanks to the three senior staff members conducting the interviews.
- Technical and non-technical questions were asked.
- Questions covered subjective knowledge.
Operations
I applied and got a call from a recruiter about two days later. We scheduled a phone interview with the hiring manager for that same week. The phone interview went well, focusing on my skills and experience. The manager mentioned he was going on vacation and couldn't meet in person for at least two weeks. After waiting, the second interview happened, which was entirely behavioral. The manager then asked me to come back for a third interview the following Friday. Friday came and I heard nothing. Almost two weeks later, I was asked to come in for the third round very last minute, with only one day's notice. After the third interview, I was told a decision would be made by the end of that week at the latest. I waited about two weeks without hearing anything and finally reached out to recruiting for an update. I was informed they had selected another candidate. It's important to respect candidates' time.
- How would you sell yourself as the ideal candidate if you were a salesperson?
Customer Care Representative
This interview was like an American Idol experience with judges and many interviewers. It was very nerve-wracking but rewarding. In the first round, everyone picks a tough question from a jar and has 2 minutes to answer and introduce themselves, needing to stand out. Most people get eliminated here. Then, you move to another task in smaller groups to see if you have what it takes. You're either hired or sent home, though sometimes they call back even after sending you home. In my group of 50, only 5 were hired on the spot. It's super rewarding when you get hired; I've been enjoying work for 5 weeks.
- Pick a question from a jar and answer it in front of the group, along with introducing yourself. Some questions are difficult! You need to make a strong impression from the start, as you don't have many chances. If you mess up your question, you likely won't make it! Just stand out! :)
