First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Behavioral Perspective.
Registered Behavioral Technician
So the first interview was a phone call to chat about the job basics, like a screening. Then the second interview was over Zoom and they asked some situation-specific, thought-provoking questions. I thought I did a great job, but then I got a short email saying I wasn't chosen because they went with someone else, which was weird 'cause a few days later the job was still posted.
- Given a client scenario, how would you react and what actions would you take?
RBT
The interview process involved me showing my desire to work with young children in the community and sharing my past experiences. They also explained the basics of ABA and assessed my creative skills with common scenarios. It's a pretty straightforward interview if you're genuinely interested in this field and can demonstrate it. However, if you're just looking for a job to clock in and out, it'll be tougher. Showing real passion for the work matters a lot. My previous experience with kids might have made it easier for me.
- Given a set of objects, demonstrate through roleplay how you would show a child how to play with them.
RBT
The interview process felt easy, and getting info was simple. The staff seemed knowledgeable and professional. They focused on education and asked about the candidate's attitude. The staff were friendly and seemed interested during the orientation, which made it feel like they were eager to have new people join and were welcoming. You could tell there wasn't any cliquey-ness among them.
- Why BPI and what attracts you to this field?
- What is your current experience level?
- Do you plan on pursuing further degrees?
Behavior Technician
I got a call from BPI. They asked some questions and then sent me an email for an in-person interview. Then I got another email saying the time was changed, and right after that, a call from the same person about the time change. The new time didn't work, but they were happy to change it again and work with my schedule.
- Have you worked with children with Autism before?
